National flag of France (1794-1814, after 1830)
French national flag from 1794-1814, and after 1830. It is made of wool bunting with a linen hoist and is hand sewn. A rope and toggle is attached for hoisting. The red stripe is slightly wider indicating is use as an ensign and the proportions are slightly longer than the official specifications. It is marked in ink on the hoist: 'Adl. King C.B. II' as it belonged to Admiral Sir George St Vincent Duckworth King (1809-91).
