Command flag of an Admiral of the Fleet, Nazi Germany (1943-1945). Stencilled on the hoist: 'Flg Grossadmiral'. The flag is made of wool bunting with a cotton hoist. It is machine sewn with the design printed onto the fabric. A rope is attached to hoist the flag. The field is white, bearing a black cross pattée on which is superimposed two crossed admiral's batons and an eagle holding the swastika.
The provenance is uncertain but the flag is likely to have been presented by the War Trophies Committee in 1947.
