Buff, salt glazed stoneware toby jug, modelled as a half-length figure of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805), in uniform and wearing a hat. The figure has three orders of chivalry embroidered on his uniform and wears three medals, one inscribed 'NILE 1798'. Nelson's pigtail forms the handle and the inscription 'TRAFALGAR 1805/England expects every man to do his duty' is impressed across the base of the jug at waist level.
