Jardiniere
A terracotta, moulded jardiniere with a single lug in the shape of a dolphin head. On one side, in relief, a half-length portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) with oak sprays behind. On the other side, the prow of a classical single-masted ship with naval trophies. The top rim is moulded in imitation of cane binding. The exterior is painted blue, the figure and foliage in naturalistic colours with the details and the dolphin head gilt. The foot is roughly finished and painted over. There is a central drainage hole.
