Vase

Vase with a wavy rim commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805), in greenish-blue jasper with applied blue reliefs. On one side is a uniformed figure of a naval officer holding a speaking trumpet, with a missing right arm, intended to represent Nelson. There is a gun, anchor and flag behind him. On the other side there is a classically dressed female figure, holding a bird and wreath of flowers with a basket of flowers at her feet. Oak leaves and roses run around the base; daisies, shells, roses and the anthemion motif decorate the body and neck.
