Jug
Unglazed, fawn stoneware jug commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805), with cane moulding around the base. Applied with relief decoration in brown including a medallion portrait of Nelson after John De Vaere with a beaded border. Inscribed on a ribbon above is 'NELSON AND VICTORY'. There is an anchor on either side, and oak leaves and acorns run around the rim. Inscribed around the neck is 'THE WOODEN WALLS OF OLD ENGLAND'. The maker's name is impressed on the base.
