Bowl
Sugar bowl commemorating the Trafalgar centenary. It is made of stoneware, colour-glazed dark blue and has a brown rope twist handle. On each side is a pale green moulded medallion, one depicting Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). 'LORD NELSON' is inscribed either side, on a pale blue panel with a brown rope twist border. The medallion on the other side shows a warship with '1758-1805' inscribed either side. The rope borders form knots between the medallions. The Trafalgar signal 'ENGLAND . EXPECTS . EVERY . MAN . WILL . DO . HIS . DUTY' runs around the neck on a green band. The Royal Doulton mark is impressed on the base.
