Jug
Pratt ware jug crisply moulded in relief with profiles representing Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Berry (1768-1831). The figure inscribed 'Admiral Nelson' is facing left to the left of the handle. Berry is on the other side, facing right, inscribed 'Captain Berry'. The inscriptions are moulded on the neck. In the background, the sea is painted with green and ochre stripes, with a ship with blue and ochre sails on either side of each portrait. The profiles are painted with black hats and blue uniforms with yellow lace and ochre order ribbons. The jug is thinly potted with a blue painted rim and brown base and an acanthus leaf scroll handle. Fleur de lis are moulded around the rim. Berry was Nelson's Flag Captain at the Battle of the Nile.
