Jug
Pratt ware jug thinly potted and moulded in relief with profiles representing Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Berry (1768-1831). The figure inscribed 'Admiral Nelson' is facing left to the left of the handle. Berry is on the other side, facing right, inscribed 'Captain Berry'. They are painted in blue, yellow, ochre, green and brown. The inscriptions are moulded on the neck and painted in brown. In the background, the sea is painted with green and ochre stripes. There is a ship on either side of each portrait. The neck is moulded with fleur de lis. The jug has brown rims and a loop handle with acanthus decoration. Berry was Nelson's Flag Captain at the Battle of the Nile.
