Jug
Pratt ware jug moulded in relief with profiles representing Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) and Rear-Admiral Sir Edward Berry (1768-1831). The figure inscribed 'Admiral Nelson' is facing left to the left of the handle. Berry is on the other side, facing right, is inscribed 'Captain Berry'. The figures have blue uniforms with yellow lace, unpainted order ribbons and brown hats. The inscriptions are moulded on the neck and painted in brown. In the background, the sea is painted green with a ship on either side of each portrait. The jug has a blue rim moulded with fleur de lis and plain base with a loop handle which has been detached and broken. The glaze is tinged blue. Berry was Nelson's Flag Captain at the Battle of the Nile.
