Journal kept by Hereford as a midshipman on HMS TRAFALGAR (1841), HMS HAWKE (1820) and HMS ACORN (1838), 1851-1857. Finely illustrated, including pencil drawings of anchor laying and a view of Cape St Antonia. Watercolours include Sinope, Pernau, Blackrock, Falmouth and Mount Edgecombe.
