Volume of 27 Ptolemaic maps

Manuscript of the twenty seven water-coloured pen-and-ink maps following the geographical work of Claudius Ptolemy. The world map is drawn on different paper to the other maps, which have an anchor in a circle watermark (as Meder 171). Inscription on verso of second map: Georgius Schbab Neapolitanus Stirus / Me faciebat / Metiri se suo modulo decet / V[olente] M[aria] V[irgine] / Georgius Schbab. Described in Joseph Fischer 'Die Ptolemäushandschrift des Georgius Schbab (nach 1513)'. Schweizer Gutenbergmuseum, Nr. 4, 1932, 18 Jahrg. Fischer identifies the Ulm Ptolemies of 1482 (for an example see NMM PBE5109 and PBE5110) and 1486 (for an example see NMM PBD7695), and the Strasbourg Ptolemy of 1513 (for an example see NMM PBD3994), as the main sources for the regional maps.
