Mug
A fluted, white porcelain mug printed with a depiction on a banner of the funeral carriage of Lord Louis Mountbatten (1900-1979), the coffin draped with the Union Flag, an officer's cocked hat and sword resting on top. The mug is inscribed in black and gilt lettering: 'In Memory of Admiral of the Fleet Earl Mountbatten of Burma. Born June 25th 1900. Murdered: August 27th 1979. Buried: September 5th 1979.' Printed on the base: 'J & J MAY The Commemorators, 40 Kensington Church Street, London W8 4BX British Made'.
