Plate
Mess plate, transfer-printed in green with a foliage border. In the centre is the Nelson family coat of arms, with augmentation of the word 'TRAFALGAR', crests and Earl's coronet. 'VANGUARD' is inscribed on a ribbon above 'PALMAM QUI MERUIT FERAT' below. Used on 'HMS Vanguard' 1835. The maker's mark is printed and impressed on the base.
