Journal from London to Genadendal in South Africa, 1837.

An account by Adolph Kuster of his journey home to South Africa from England in 1837. It covers a passage on the barque PERO (1823), master Gray, from London to the Cape of Good Hope, between 23 March 1837 and 25 June 1837; then a journey overland to the missionary station at Gnadenthal (or Genadendal), reached on 21 July 1837. A loose newspaper cutting advertising an exhibition of ‘Bosjemans' (indigenous people of South Africa) at Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly, London, is included.
