Goblet
A white bone china goblet on a pedestal foot, commemorating the bicentenary of the birth of John Bibby in 1775 and the growth of the Bibby Line fleet. The goblet is printed with the Bibby Line cap badge - the house flag within a laurel wreath, surmounted by a naval crown in gold. Four sailing vessels, one steam assisted are depicted in red outline on the other side with a compass rose and the Bibby Line house flag. The flag is red with a crest in yellow of an arm brandishing a dagger. The Queen's Award to Industry motif is placed on the foot of the goblet, which has a gold rim and base. Inscribed under the base: 'One of six hundred SPECIALLY MADE FOR BIBBY LINE TO MARK THE BICENTENARY 1775-1975 OF THE BIRTH OF JOHN BIBBY AND THE GROWTH OF THE FLEET TO ONE MILLION TONS'. The maker's mark is also printed on the base.
