Fragment of a tea caddy, relic of Admiral of the Fleet Sir David Beatty, 1st Earl Beatty (1871-1936).
Silver-plated tea caddy, damaged in an explosion aboard Beatty's ship HMS Lion at the Battle of the Dogger Bank 24 January 1915. One corner of the top is inscribed 'Tea caddy broken by explosion of shell in Admiral's cabin at Dogger Bank.'
