Button, Royal Naval uniform: pattern pre-1825? or 1825-1827?
One button. Rope twist edge. With a raised circular border on a lined background is an anchor with a snake. The snake's head is resting on the top of the stock pointing right. Its body goes under the left-hand side of the stock, then over the shank to the right, back under the shank to the left then under the left arm. Surgeon.
