East Milton near Gravesend, circa 1875
A whole plate negative. Heading east from Gravesend looking along the East Milton Road towards Denton and Chalk. At the centre of the image is the church of St Peter and St Paul in the district of Milton-next-Gravesend. The church was built about 1320-1325 and the tower is a later addition. On the left is the Duck Pond School. In the middle background is a shop on the corner of Milton Road and Elliott Street owned by A. Birch and further along the terrace is a notice board advertising the Prince of Wales public house which is hidden by the trees between the church and Elliott Street.
