St Andrew's Waterside Church Mission at Gravesend
A 12x10 negative. A general view taken from the River Thames looking south-west into Bawley Bay at Gravesend. St Andrew's Waterside Church Mission is prominent. The offices and residence of the mission are in the former Spread Eagle public house, taken over in the 1860s, and alongside is St Andrew's Church which was consecrated in 1871. Bawleys are in the bay and the mission's steam launch is in the centre of the photograph with her crew and some of the mission workers facing the camera.
