St Thomas's Almshouses at Gravesend, 1898
A 12x10 negative. St Thomas's Almshouses at the corner of King Street and Windmill Street at Gravesend. A photograph taken from a first floor balcony across the road shortly before demolition of the building. On the walls and railings are posters advertising the sale of building materials by Messrs Glover and Homewood on 18 May 1898. In the left background number 25 King Street is the clothing shop of J A Stirton. Four horse drawn hanson cabs are lined up in King Street waiting for business. Negative number G2342 is a similar view but taken at a slightly earlier date.
