British Sailors. Landing Party with Breech Loading Field Gun. No. 79

Set of lead figures with original cardboard box. The box has a printed label on the lid which reads: 'BRITISH SAILORS LANDING PARTY WITH BREECH LOADING FIELD GUN PATENT NO. 20776 MANUFACTURED BY W. Britain IN LONDON. TO LOAD AND FIRE - Pull the trigger back from the gun as far as it will go; place a bolt in the breech then lift the trigger from underneath with one finger till the spring carries it forwards. No. 79'. The box is divided into compartments containing, figures of eight sailors in painted lead with moveable arms and a bearded officer with a drawn sword. They are all depicted running. Six of the sailors are attached by cords to an ammunition trailer.
