'Warrior' (1860)
Scale 1:48. A plan showing the body, sheer lines and longitudinal half-breadth at the stern of the broadside ironclad 'Warrior' (1860). The plan includes plan views of the corresponding parts of the main deck and upper deck. The plan is entitled 'Sketch showing a proposed alteration of the stern of the 'Warrior' for the purpose of housing the Rudder, dispensing with the Propeller Well'.
Although 'Warrior's' sister 'Black Prince' (1861) was completed with a non-lifting fixed screw, this proposed alteration was never implemented.
Plan NPC5134 is a counterpart to this plan, showing a proposal whereby the propeller well is left in place.
