Private album of Marjorie E. Holland

A leather bound album containing 205 black/white photographic prints and nine loose photographic prints. The album cover is in poor condition, as the front cover is detached from the spine, and has been repaired with brown paper. The inside page of the cover is signed 'Marjorie E Holland'.

The album covers the following themes and subjects:

1) Family photographs - some of these are identified with initials, and include friends and family portrait shots, as well as activities such as cricket, swimming, fancy dress, and relaxing at home, or in Hong Kong, Guthil and Den Damph.

2) Topographical views - Cader Idris (Snowdonia), Den Damph

3) Ships - one each of Victor Emmanuel (1855), the old flagship for Hong Kong, and Tamar (1863), her replacement

Other images include some vessels at Cowes, an 'Assault at Arms' display at Britannia Naval College possibly when Marjorie's brother Cedric was a cadet [later an Admiral].
