HMS 'Penguin' (1876) and USS 'Celtic' (1891) moored at Sydney Harbour

A starboard near beam view of the composite screw sloop 'Penguin' (1876), secured to a mooring buoy off Garden Island, Sydney Harbour, Australia. The USS Transport 'Celtic' (1891) is moored ahead off her port bow, of which only the stern to the funnel can be seen in the photograph. On the right is the bow and forecastle of a Third Class Cruiser - either the 'Katoomba' (1889) or the 'Tauranga' (1889). Both cruisers were based at Sydney during this time.

Note that the cruiser is still in 'Victorian' colours.
