A bound photograph album with the binding broken. 62 Albumen prints pasted in over 78 pages, with 6 loose prints, various sizes, and with brief hand written captions. A general topographical album compiled by a naval officer in the 1870s/90s. The following locations are shown: Jamaica, Suez Canal, Malta, Ceylon, Aden, Funchal, Bombay, Madras, Mauritius, St Helena, Syracuse, Naples, Rome, Salerno, Pompeii.
There are also ship portraits of: Undaunted (1861), Druid (1869), Thetis (1871). A view of the Royal Naval Hospital at Trincomalee, Ceylon also features.
Various photographers including Adolphe Duperly & Co., Hippolyte, Frith, B.Grant, Chauffourier & Girgenti.
