Many of the West & Son photographs do not have a number, those that do have been recorded.

1. West & Son no. 6373. Starboard side view of Battleship HMS Royal Sovereign (1891), with members of the crew seen on deck.
1a. Three men are seen facing the camera. Two of them are inside the cab of an unknown steam locomotive (possibly numbered 308), and the other is standing to the side of it.
2. West & Son no. 6420. Starboard side view of Cruiser HMS Blenheim (1890), dressed with flags. The vessel is clearly moving, due to the steam that is visible, as well as the waves against the hull. A group of the crew are seen standing at the stern of the vessel.
2a. A group of men (including a policeman) are seen facing the camera, at the scene of a train accident. It appears that two unknown steam locomotives have been involved in a head-on collision. On the right hand side of the photograph is a railway truck numbered 36435.
3. West & Son no. 6463. Starboard side view of Passenger liner SS St Louis (1894), with members of the crew seen on deck. The Ensign of the United States is being flown at the stern of the vessel.
4. West & Son no. 6462. Starboard side, bow view of Passenger liner SS St Louis (1894) with the Ensign of the United States is being flown at the stern of the vessel. Smaller sailing vessels are seen in the background.
5. West & Son no. 6388. Port side, stern view of Passenger liner Columbia (1889) with the flag of the German Empire being flown at the stern of the vessel. Smaller sailing vessels are seen in the background. The sea appears to be quite rough.
6. West & Son no. 6484. Port side view of Passenger liner Spree (1890) with the flag of the German Empire being flown at the stern of the vessel. Another vessel (possibly a Cruiser or a Battleship) is seen in the background, to the right hand side of the photograph.

10. West & Son no. 5415. Starboard side view of paddle steamer SS Mountaineer (date unknown), dressed with flags and with members of the crew seen on deck. The vessel is in Oban Bay, with many other vessels seen in the background, many also dressed with flags.

16. West & Son no. 11045. Starboard side view of RMSS Clyde (date unknown) with the White Ensign flying at the stern. There is an unidentified coastline seen in the background.
17. West & Son no. 1450. Starboard side view of SS Lord of the Isles (1891) with an unidentified coastline (probably Inveraray) in the background.
18. A view of the cab of an unknown steam PLM locomotive (possibly numbered 290), in an unidentified location. The front of the locomotive is pointing to the left hand side of the photograph.

25. Starboard side view of SS Germanic (1875), in dock at an unidentified dockyard. Behind it, to the stern, is another docked vessel, which is unidentified, but is two-masted and two-funnelled.
26. West & Son no. 6971. A view of the Forth Railway Bridge, from the South, during construction, with the three cantilevers seen in position, but each on their own and unconnected to each other.
27. West & Son no. 861. Bow view of Battleship Formidable (1885), with several rowing boats on either side. An unidentified three-masted vessel is seen in the background, on the left hand side of the photograph.
28. West & Son no. 5420. A view overlooking Oban Bay on Regatta Day (the date of which is known). In the harbour are seen many vessels, some of which are dressed with flags, some are not.
29. West & Son no. 317. Three Herring boats are putting out from Aberdeen during the Herring season. The boat in the foreground is seen from a stern view, it has possibly ‘INS.719’ on the sail and several men on board, including one man who is seen at the stern trying to steer.
30. West & Son no. 20029. Starboard side view of SS Etruria (1884), possibly at Liverpool, with an ensign (probably a Red Ensign) flying at the stern.
31. West & Son no. 4999. At least four yachts are seen on the Clyde, with Marguerite seen in the centre of the photograph from a bow view.
32. West & Son no. 14174. Port side view of SS Bothnia (1874), docked at an unidentified dockyard, with warehouses in the background.
33. West & Son no. 4266. Port side view of SS Austral (1881), with unidentified vessels seen in the background, behind it.

43. West & Son no. 20037. Starboard side view of SS Alaska (1881) at Liverpool, with steam coming out of the funnels (suggesting the vessel is moving). Another similar, unidentified vessel is seen moving in the opposite direction at Alaska’s stern.
44. West & Son no. 3456. Starboard side bow view of SS Parisian (1880) anchored at Liverpool, with the dockside in the backgorund.
45. West & Son no. 20045. Starboard side view of SS City of Berlin (1875) at Liverpool, possibly anchored. Another vessel is seen to the left hand side of the photograph from a stern view, pulling away from the camera, while other vessels similar to City of Berlin are also seen in the background.
46. West & Son no. 20035. Starboard side view of SS Adriatic (1871) at Liverpool, possibly anchored. The stern of another vessel is seen on the right left hand side of the photograph.
47. West & Son no. 1637. Port side bow view of SS Columbia (date unkown) at Arorishaig, with many people seen on the upper deck. There are several smaller vessels in the foreground and a jetty with railings on the left hand side of the photograph.

55. West & Son no. 26618. Port side view of SS Umbria (1884) moving past an unknown town in the background. Several flags are seen flying on the vessel.
56. West & Son no. 20046. Starboard side view of SS British Princess (date unknown) on the move with one sail at the bow having been hoisted.
57. Starboard side view of an unidentified two-masted vessel at an unidentified hilly location, with several smaller vessels seen in the background. There are five crew members who are seen on the upper deck, looking at the camera.
58. A view down towards the stern of an unidentified vessel at an unidentified hilly location. An ensign (probably a Red Ensign) is seen flying at the stern.
59. Port side view of an unidentified one-masted vessel at an unidentified hilly location (the same location as in photograph 570. There are five crew members who are seen sitting down on the upper deck relaxing, with one of the men seen reading a book.
60. The crew of an unidentified vessel are seen on in two groups, with most of the men looking at the camera. The photograph appears to be looking towards the bow of the vessel, with an unidentified hilly location seen in the background.
61. Port side view of an unidentified one-masted vessel, similar to the vessels in photographs 57 and 59 at an unidentified hilly location (the same location as in photographs 57 and 59). There are six crew members who are seen sitting down on the upper deck relaxing. The Union Jack is seen flying at the stern.
62. West & Son no. 4752. Starboard side view of yachts Vanouara (possibly) and Cenesta at sea, with Cenesta ahead, in the foreground. There are a couple of yachts seen in the background.
63. West & Son no. 4757. Starboard side view of yachts Irex and Lenore at sea, with probably Lenore ahead, in the foreground. There are a couple of yachts seen behind them in the background, and the sail of another seen on the left hand side of the photograph.
64. Port side view of an unidentified two-masted vessel at an unidentified hilly location (the same location as in photographs 57, 59 and 61). There are seven crew members who are seen on the upper deck relaxing. The White Ensign is seen flying at the stern.
65. A view overlooking an identified dockyard. Two railway carts are seen at the bottom of the photograph, with many barrels stacked up on the left and right hand side, with a yard in between. Many vessels are seen on the dockside in the background of the photograph.
66. West & Son no. 3497. A view of Langton Dock in Liverpool, with an unidentified three-masted vessel in dry dock at the centre of the photograph (seen from a stern view). A clock tower is to its left, and a much smaller vessel is seen in the foreground.
67. Port side view of an unidentified two-masted vessel at an unidentified hilly location (the same location as in photographs 57, 59, 61 and 64). There are fourteen crew members who are seen on the upper deck relaxing, one of which is seen at the stern, sitting on the sail.
68. A view of an unidentified dockyard, taken from the dock side. Many vessels are seen in the background, and a two-masted vessel is seen (from a stern view) moored on the left hand side of the photograph.
69. West & Son no. 2722. A view of the lighthouse at Scarborough. A pair of two-masted vessels are seen in the foreground, with the vessel on the right hand side of the photograph having had its’ sails unfurled. The Grand Hotel and Spa Bridge are seen in the background.
70. A starboard side view of an unidentified two-masted vessel. There are several crew members seen on board. A similar is vessel is seen in the background, and there is another vessel emerging on the left hand side of the photograph. The photograph has a rounded top and focuses only of the vessel in the centre, with no images seen near the edges of the photograph.
