America (1851)

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer l,ines, and longitudinal half-breadth with deck half-breadth for America (1851), a schooner-rigged yacht. The original draught by Chapelle was taken from an undated plan found at the Admiralty in 1933. The plan that Chapelle copied was originally marked 'Office Copy' and 'Yard Copy, Ste. Conchman.'

A hand draughted version of the plans for this vessel are held in the Admiralty 'Miscellanious' material with reference numbers NPD0971 for the body plan, sheer lines and half-breadth, and NPD0972 for the sail plan. This particular plan states that they were drawn in 1852 by Admiral Loring.
