Description: A photograph album containing 33 dry mounted prints showing vessels built by Charles Hill, Ltd, Bristol. A comprehensive specification is given for each vessel. Several of the vessels are also shown in ALB0050 to 0052, sometimes the same photo.
1. The shipyard from the Avon, with a vessel ready to launch.
2. “Lighthouse vessel and buoy tender”. At sea, port beam.
3. “Pilot Cutter”. The vessel seems to be named ‘Queen ???’ on the stern, with Bristol Pilots on the side, possibly ‘Queen Mother’ (1955) yn 391. In the estuary, under way, port quarter.
4. “Suction Dredger”. At anchor in open water, starboard beam.
5. “Suction Dredger ‘Norwest’ (1955) yn 399. At anchor in open water, starboard bow.
6. A dredger in the distance, off shore, with a floating shore delivery line. Industrial site in the foreground, featuring “Europa, BP, Mobiloil and Plume”. This is the same photo as ALB0049 page 21 and ALB0050 page 3R and therefore presumably Dredger ‘Karitea’ (1951) YN 380.
