Charles Hill Ltd, Bristol City Line, Montreal City (1920), Toronto City (1925)

A post bound photograph album with a black board cover. The front cover has an oval indented shape in the middle of which is te word 'photographs' in gold. The first page has 'Buxton photograph album' also in gold. The inner back cover has a pocket containing adhesive wafers and a straight edge for mounting photographs. There are seven photographs dry mounted in the album, showing mill housing being transferred on both Montreal City (1920) and Toronto City (1925) at Newport Docks , July 1937. The ships were acquired by Bristol City Line, not built by Charles Hill.

1. A large assembly on a rail low-loader truck 41974, marked GW Crocodile. The load is marked “United Exg, Pittsburgh, Pa.”. A steam locomotive and driver are visible in the background, and there is a similar load, shrouded, on the next wagon.
2. Wagon 41974 at a quayside, viewed from the other side.
3. The assembly is being craned from the quayside. ‘Montreal City’ is in the background.
4. The assembly is suspended from a floating crane which is approaching ‘Toronto City’ amidships.
5. The assembly is being lifted onto ‘Toronto City’.
6 & 7. A similar assembly being moved into position on ‘Montreal City’
