Capital Ships of the Royal Navy
A green board covered album containing 104 photographic chloride prints of ship portraits, photographed in the Portsmouth area, slotted in. This album was compiled by Gerald John Blake (1885-1916) and the following inscription is on the album:
'"Gerald John Blake (1885-1916) Maker of the [sic] small warship models and collector of photographs of warships of the Royal Navy from the coming of steam to date, untill killed in France in the Battle of the Somme, 1st July 1916. Given to the National Maritime Museum in his memory."
