A view from the wooden quay looking across the trawl basin filled with a large number of sailing trawlers. Many of the trawlers have their main sails set. Six people, including two elegantly dressed ladies, are standing on the wooden quay observing. Boats in the basin include 'Gold Seeker' (1902) [LT341], 'Sapphire' (1890) [LT48], 'Preceptor' (1888) [LT193], 'Girl Muriel' (1900) [LT485], 'Criterion' (1882) [R459] and 'Ethel Wing' (1883) [LT320]. In the background, on the right, can be seen the New Fishermen's Shelter building.
