On the left can be seen the Albion public house, with the Anchor pub in the middle distance through the rigging of various sailing craft alongside the quay. In the foreground can be seen a Colchester registered trawler, dressed overall, with visitors onboard. Cutters and rowing boats are on the water being watched by large crowds of well-dressed onlookers along the riverside.
