A view of the river frontage of the Harris boatyard taken from the Wivenhoe side of the River Colne. A group of seven adults and two children are seated on the quayside to the left of the slipsways. On the slips are a number of vessels including a motor cruiser, yacht, and a smack dressed overall ready for launching. A number of rowing and sailing dinghies are dried out on the foreshore, while on the right, other yachts are secured to the quayside. The Harris yard was taken over in 1916 by Rowhedge Ironworks Ltd.
