Brooch
Icelandic coins made into a brooch with a safety chain. Centre coin has the reverse smoothed and engraved ‘Ada Iceland 1941’. Obverse: of coins on either side, ‘CX’ ‘ISLAND KONINGUR 1939.’ And ‘CX’ ‘ISLAND KONINGUR 1937.’ Reverse: ‘ISLAND EYRIR’. On back of brooch. Obverse of central coin: ‘ISLAND KONINGUR 1940’. No chain. Belonged to George H. Heathcock lost in the sinking of HMS 'Repulse' 10 December 1941.
