Scabbard
Scabbard for solid half-basket hilted dress sword, of the type worn by all Commissioned Officers below the Flag rank. The black leather scabbard has two gilt lockets and rings, with a pin on the reverse of the top locket to engage with the hole in the folding flap on the guard and a gilt chape. The reverse of top locket bears the initials 'W.G.P.B.', which refer to Sub-Lieutenant W.G.P. Brigstocke (died 1940) of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.
