Dirk scabbard
The brass scabbard has two rings, the lower ring and chape are now missing. The obverse of the scabbard is engraved with a design of lines and leaves. While the reverse of the scabbard is engraved with a crest, consisting of a demi-greyhound transfixed by an arrow. The reverse of the scabbard is also engraved with the Latin motto 'Mortem quam dedeous', below which are the initials 'F N'. Lieutenant Francis Noble (1783-1843) obtained his Commission on 28th June 1808.
