Scabbard
Scabbard for solid half-basket hilted sword. Owned by F.W. Hyde, Chief Officer, Coastguard (1858-?). The scabbard is black leather with two gilt lockets and a chape with pointed shoe. There is ring suspension (a buckle from the sword sling attached to the top ring), the fittings have thread decoration.
