The Battle of Trafalgar
Framed and glazed colour print showing fighting on the deck of a warship during the Battle of Trafalgar 1805, published by J. Gillbank on 15th June 1806. The full title under the image reads: ' The Battle off Trafalgar, Captain Harvey of the Temeraire, with part of his brave Ships Company, Clearing the Deck of the French & Spaniards, who had succeeded in Boarding and Striking the British Flag, when the English cut their way to the Combined Ensigns, Tore them down, and Rehoisted the British, & after an Obstinate Engagement Captured both the Enemies Ships.' There is a diagonal crack right across the glass and the print is in poor condition, it appears to be stained with varnish.
