Button, Alfred Holt and Company (Blue Funnel Line)
Button worn on the uniform of the shipping company Alfred Holt and Company (Blue Funnel Line). Gilt brass domed button with rope twist outer border and raised inner border. Rectangular blue (indicated by horizontal shading) flag with white (indicated by no shading) diamond in centre with ‘AH’ (letters joined) enclosed. All on flat ground.
On the reverse of the button the maker is inscribed 'G VARCOE & SON 16 LONDON ST LONDON'.
