Button worn on the uniform of an unknown shipping company. Gilt brass domed button with rope twist outer border and raised inner border. Raised rectangular red flag (indicated by vertical shading) with letter ‘D’ enclosed in a smaller white rectangle (indicated by no shading). Thistle surrounds flag. All on lined ground.
The following is inscribed on the reverse of the button - 'MADE IN ENGLAND' There is a maker's mark of crossed swords with 'SWORD TRADE' inscribed on one side and 'MAKE MARK' to the other side.
