Album covering the Naval service of Paymaster Rear Admiral Martin Gilbert Bennett, OBE, RN (1880-1972)

A photograph album with green boards. There are 112 photographs mounted in slots in leaves, some were removed before the acquisition of the album by the National Maritime Museum.
Note in GAO's hand states "From Captain G M Bennett DSC RN 33 Argyll Road, London W8 7DA".
The album includes the following vessels: Victoria & Albert (1899), HMS Bulwark (1899), HMS Aboukir (1900), HMS Pyramus (1897), HMS Hindustan (1903), HMS King Edward VII (1903) in 1905, in King Edward Dock, and in Gibraltar in March 1905, German Training Ship Charlotte (1885), HMS Commonwealth (1903), HMS Theseus (1892), HMS Prince George (1895), HMS Highflyer (1898), HMS Benbow (1913) in 1922, Makook II (date unkown).
The album includes the following locations: Malta, Straits of Messina, Admiral's House in Bombay in 1912, Calcutta, RN Establishment at Diyatalawa, Ceylon, Muscat, Kuwait, Trincomali, Portsmouth (Secretaries' Courses 1922-24), Constantinople.
Also included are the following personailities: Cdr. Edward M. Phillpotts, Queen Alexandra, Lt. R. B. England, Lt. Archibald R. J. Southby, Rear Admiral Sir R. Webb, Admiral Calthorpe.
