Early Royal Navy career of Philip F. B. Blackwell
A blue/green cloth covered album containing 217 photographs glued in.
Contents: This album contains photographs taken when Lt Cdr Blackwell was serving as a Midshipman on HMS Glorious (1916) - joining her on 21 June 1918, and on HMS Centurion (1911) - joining her on 7 March 1919. In 1919 and 1920 he served as Acting Lieutenant on HMS Zinnia (1915) in 1919 and HMS Ajax (1912) in 1920. All these ships are represented in the album together with ships of the Grand Fleet and surrender of the German High Seas Fleet in 1918. There are also photographs of naval officers and aeroplanes.
