An album describing major construction work undertaken by a firm called Leather Smith & Co. circa 1900
A photograph album with faded black and white photographs (which are mostly 152mm x 102mm in size) pasted one or two to a page. There are no captions, but there are manuscript descriptions of the photographs by the donor of the album, dated 30 October 1969.
The album contains photographs which are said to be of Portsmouth Dockyard extension. There are also photographs of the pier construction at Woolston circa 1899 for J. G. Fay & Co. Ltd. (shipbuilders).
The album also contains the following vessels under construction: Sunshine (1899), Eastham (1899), Yarana (1899), Senta (1899) Spl., Astrild (1899) Spl.
