A voyage of the P&O Passenger/cargo ship Mongolia (1923)
This is a photograph album with green board covers and a cord binding. There are 129 photographs affixed with corner mounts and 29 loose photographs. There are white ink manuscript captions.
Contents: RMS Mongolia (1923) was launched in 1922 for the P&O passenger and cargo service to Australia. In 1938 she was chartered to the NZS Co. as the SS Rimutaka. She later became the SS Europa (1951), SS Nassau (1961) and SS Acapulco (1961). She was sold for breaking up in 1964. This album contains photographs of shipboard life, deck views, ship portraits and group photographs of officers and passengers as well as topographical views of places visited during her voyage. It was apparently compiled by Captain C B Roche.
