Equipment model; Anchor model; Half killick
Scale: Unknown. A model of a half killick from Norway consisting of a wooden stock with a grown crook arm projecting at forty-five degrees to the shank. There is a large flat oval shaped stone which has been tied to the shank around the middle and rests on the fork of the crook with a notch in the stone to keep it in position. The stone has a grey mottled colour. This model is based upon the anchor recovered from the Gokstad shipwreck in 1882. In Norwegian it is known as the krabbe or the krakje.
