Equipment model; Anchor model; Killick

Scale: Unknown. A model of a killick from Itahim, Rio Grande do Sul, S. Brazil consisting of a long, almost rectangular stone which is secured in a wooden frame consisting of four wooden grown boughs. There is a rope securing the four wooden uprights together at the base of the stone and at the top of the stone. The stone sits in the crutch of the branches. The branches, which form a grapnel, are at roughly 45 degree angles to the stone and have small projections underneath the stone which finish flush at the neck. At the top of the anchor there are two ends of the upright lashed together to form a large arch while the other two, which are shorter, are tied together slightly below the arch.
