Equipment model; Anchor model; Killick
Scale: Unknown. A model of an killick from the Taliabu, Sulu Islands consisting of a tall wooden shank, circular in section to which has been lashed two smaller wooden cross pieces which form a triangular shaped frame upon which a set of deer antlers have been attached with rattan lashings. Between the two wooden cross pieces and the antlers is a small oval-shaped stone held in place by a series of rattan hoops and lashings. At the top of the shank there are two smaller wooden cross pieces which have been lashed in parallel, using rattan to which a slightly larger oval-shaped stone is fixed using a diagonal pattern of rattan lashings. Just above the larger stone the shank has been drilled and a rattan loop passed through to which a cable can be attached. The antlers themselves consist of a light brown skull section with a pair of six pronged 'arms' finished in black.
