Single sheet. Hand coloured engraving. Scale [circa 1:1,700,000]. The borders are graduated for latitude and longitude, rhumb lines shown. The scale is in German and French miles. The coastline of Iceland is shown with exaggerated indentations. Mountains and a volcano are depicted in bird's eye view. The cartouche is decorated with fairies and fruit; the sea is decorated with two sea creatures and a ship.

This chart is from a Dutch edition of Blaeu's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. It has a description of Iceland, in Dutch, printed on the reverse.
