Cable Terrace, belonging to the Anglo-American Telegraph Co., was not in existence during the 1849 survey but may have been added in the 1869 large corrections. The first transatlantic cable was laid from Valentia in 1857-8 but soon failed. The successful replacement was laid in 1866.
